Brooke Hansen
Office of the Secretary Department of the Interior
Brooke currently serves as the Deputy Evaluation Officer for the Department of the Interior where she leads the evidence and evaluation team within the Office of the Secretary to advance implementation of Title I of the Foundations for Evidence-based Policymaking Act of 2018. In this role, she works across the Department to build Interior's learning agenda, develop and execute significant program evaluations, and champion a culture of learning.
Before joining Interior's Office of the Secretary, she served in other Interior roles at the National Park Service in Colorado and Nevada and at the Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement, as well as in other federal positions in Washington, DC at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Millennium Challenge Corporation. Prior to federal service, Brooke worked at the state level at Washington's Department of Natural Resources in Olympia, WA and also served in leadership and management roles at environmental and conservation nonprofit organizations in Minneapolis, MN.
Brooke holds a MPA from Indiana University Bloomington, a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, and a BA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
