Retired Navy Vice Admiral
Michael Franken is CEO of a U.S.-based consulting company working on behalf of industry, federal R&D centers, interagency clients, and public institutions in the areas of remote logistics, IUU fishing, energy grid sustainability, infrastructure development, agriculture, and climate mitigation. He serves on three pro bono corporate boards and is a senior mentor at the Center for Naval Analysis and the Stimson Center. He co-drafted the 2023 DoD Defense Science Board study on climate mitigation and adaptation.Vice Admiral Mike Franken, USN(ret), commanded at sea and ashore in his 36-year naval service. He has extensive experience in legislative affairs, planning and drafting strategy, policy development, and ground and sea operations across the globe. He holds degrees and certificates in engineering, finance, and physics from the University of Nebraska, the Naval Postgraduate School, the Brookings Institution, MIT, and the Darden school.
