Scott B. Nichols

Lieutenant Commander Scott Nichols is currently assigned as a Program Analyst in the Office of Program Analysis and Evaluation (CG-PAE) at Coast Guard Headquarters, Washington, DC. In this role, he leads the Coast Guard's Enterprise Risk Management program and facilitates strategic studies of Coast Guard issues.
Lieutenant Commander Nichols previously served as Commanding Officer, CGC SITKINAK and CGC OCRACOKE in Portland, ME. He has also served at sea as Executive Officer of CGC WILLIAM TRUMP and CGC PEA ISLAND in Key West, FL, and as a Deck Watch Officer aboard CGC WAESCHE in Alameda CA. He served ashore at the Coast Guard National Command Center and Department of Homeland Security National Operations Center, where he provided situational awareness of Coast Guard operations worldwide to senior Coast Guard and Department of Homeland Security leadership.
Lieutenant Commander Nichols holds a Bachelor of Science in Government from the United States Coast Guard Academy, a Master of Arts in Emergency Management and Homeland Security from Arizona State University, and Master of Public Administration from The George Washington University Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration. He is married to the former Brittany Childers of Derwood, MD. They have three children, Keith (9), Austin (7), and Alanna (3).
