Jake began his federal career in the US Air Force as a meteorologist and served for over 27 years. During his Air force career, he worked in weather stations in 5 countries and 7 states, at the NATO headquarters in Germany, and at the Pentagon.
Jake's second career has been with the Department of the Interior. He worked at three bureaus in Interior before he moved to the Office of the Secretary with the specific mission to stand up an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program for Interior. Over the past four year, working with the staff from the 11 bureaus and multiple offices, Jake built a strong community of practice (COP). Working collaboratively with the COP Interior has established a far reaching ERM program.
Jake holds undergraduate degrees in Meteorology and in Human Resource Management and has a master's degree in education. He is married and has 3 children and 6 grandchildren. He has been a member and active participant in the Association for Federal Enterprise Risk Management (AFERM) since its founding.
